Horagolla and Thibbotugoda are known to be the only villages which are situated about half a mile away from Ganemulla in the Western Province.
This village is beautified with green mountains. The paddy fields and the Uruwal stream that runs through the fields are witnesses to the flourishing agricultural life of the village.
According to legends which are handed through word of mouth, it is said that Prince Dingiri was in charge of this village to eradicate the Portuguese as per the orders of King Rajasinghe. It is also said that, to fulfill this task, a particular mountain was used as means. These legends help us to draw a conclusion that, certain royal family members and nobleman would have passed through this village during their travels. Therefore, this village has a Sri Lankan historical value attached to it.
